Loved the vids - very entertaining - keep up the good work.
See you all at the end of the month.
Gregg.

Great vids guys - well done -
Still can't believe you stood so close to that egg grenade Porta - it made one hell of a bang - ![]()
It is my strong belief that Porta is crazy

I think all who attended the training day KNOW that Porta and Tiny are crazy!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Here's a long shot, just wondering how many would be interested in doing a vid of the platoon sized ambush that we did on the training day, the three of us coming from from Newcastle are up for it. Noticed that there's a thread elsewhere on the forum where the idea was trashed. But, if after the day's airsofting, we can get re-hydrated take 10 mins, either on the Sat' or the Sunday, and then do it with some Yanks as enemy, (that fall when hit) edit it and cover it with the Panzer Lied or Erika, then change it to sepia or grey scale I think we've got a winner. I'll ask on the day, but it would be nice to know how many would be up for it. Its open to all SS and Wehrmacht, the more the merrier.

Me and my two brit commando mates are well up for it. The reason that the idea was trashed was that the guy wanted the whole day to be a big film set.

We could ask Gregg (Lonewolf) he's Hohenstaufen and he's a cameraman as well, don't want to overburden him though, but he did some great shots of the training day, Tony or Paul Gregory could do it, but I think they are coming on the Sunday only. The Sturmbahnfuhrer could lead us in, as he's a qualified bushwacker now anyway and if we could get Kermit on the MG42 we've cracked it.
If we could pull this one off, it would be nice set to the score from Sam Peckinpah's "Cross of Iron" with alternating shots of an enemy patrol moving along a track then back to us setting up an ambush

Ah, Stubblehopper - the opening credits and music for Cross of Iron are - in my opinion - the best ever. ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Consider your cameraman booked - so long as real work doesn't rear its ugly head, meaning I'd miss the whole event - BOO HOO !
I've got a small 'sit up and beg' Sony Camcorder which will probably be ideal (its only single chip, but you can get some good results out of it if you know what you're doing).
Still, if anybody else has a higher spec camera they want to bring along then all the better - I know my way around most formats.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the end of the month.
Gregg.

Wow, this is very well done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5UxtV8jRjk
Anyway, I'm no film-maker, but I suggest we put some ideas of good footage here. Obviously battle scenes, but even the more mundane stuff brings out the humanity of the people. Cooking, eating, sitting around the camp, etc. A squad patrolling, etc.

what about germans brewing up prior to ambushing the british?

I've got some great German pictures. I'll get them posted on this thread for you guys.

lonewolf i have a panasonic ag100dve shall i bring it? 3ccd widescreen.
perhaps we can collaborate...do you want a tripod?
maybe a small camcorder will be better anyway......
I just dont really want to do any filming - too much like work...
Absolutely
The more the merrier.
Can you bring it - and a tripod - along for the weekend - even if its just stays in the back of the car.
The more cameras we have, the better - so long as we don't start seeing them in shot.
Tiny / Forester - any chance of bringing the Tanks ?
We could do some lovely forced perspective shots and get some armour in the video.
Plus any other props (working or otherwise) would be greatly appreciated.
I'll be filming and taking photos throughout the weekend, so we should hopefully get plenty of footage.
Anybody have a preference - should we do it in the style of old newsreel footage or more like Band of Brothers ?
Also, anyone know a good editor ?
Gregg.

Newsreel is a bit dull IMO. I like Stubblehopper's suggestion of doing it ala Cross of Iron intro. ![]()

Happy Days
I'll arrange shooting it, you can cut it.
Maybe we should start a new thread with ideas for video footage.
I've PM'd Ed at IED to see if we can get use of the site (for an hour or two) after the end of the game on Sunday - if anybody fancies hanging around for filming.
Anyway, more discussion on the new Churchill's Revenge Filming thread.
See you there.
Gregg.
